During E3 2019‘s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo closed out its presentation by showing visuals for its upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Although the surprise trailer didn’t reveal much, it did assure that a sequel is currently in development.
A new Zelda game shouldn’t come a surprise, especially given how well the original title did on the Nintendo Switch selling over 14 million copies. What is surprising is that this is a direct sequel to a previous Zelda game, a franchise that usually tells separate, indirect stories each installment (with the exceptions of a few titles).
