Before facing off against longtime friend and rival Michael Phelps in the 200-meter individual medley at the Rio Olympics Thursday night, Ryan Lochte got a bit sentimental about their last Olympic showdown.
The U.S. swimmer (who is known for his changing appearance as well as his swimming abilities) posted a photo on Instagram (below) of himself and Phelps preparing for the race that the two of them have dominated for more than a decade. “One last time! #USA #longjourney #12years,” Lochte captioned the ‘gram of them sitting in matching inflatable rescue floats and digging into their carb-packed pre-race meals.

Between them, Lochte and Phelps have won the 200 I.M. at 13 of the last 14 major international meets, while Phelps has taken gold in the event in the past four Olympics. Come race time on Thursday, Lochte managed to hold the lead for the first 100 meters, but ended up finishing fifth. Phelps took home the gold, yet again.
Fifth place seems to have left a bad taste in Lochte’s mouth, however, because on Today Friday morning he told Matt Lauer that although he plans to take a break from swimming, we can expect to find him back in the pool at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo Japan. And he expects Phelps to be there too.
“You know what, I can definitely say that, because I guarantee he will be there,” he told Lauer. “I think so. I really think so. So Michael, I’ll see you in Tokyo.”
“(Phelps is) definitely an inspiration, just what he’s accomplished in the sport,” Lochte went on to say. “He brings the best out of me, and hopefully I can say the same for him. The rivalry that we’ve created and that friendship, I’m definitely going to cherish it for the rest of my life.”
4 Olympics straight we’ve won this relay. So humbled to be apart of this moment! #USA #olympics #relay #gold

Phelps and Lochte will be 35 and 36 years old, respectively, for the 2020 Summer Olympics. Will they actually make it that far? We’ll have to just wait and see.
Kim Kardashian West has made no secret of her struggles to lose the baby weight that she gained while pregnant with 7-month-old son Saint and her daughter North, 3. After months of grueling workouts and a strict adherence to the Atkins diet helped her shed an incredible 70 pounds, the reality star is showing off her hard work and proudly flaunting her post-baby slim-down.
The mom-of-two stepped out in Los Angeles on Friday in a skintight gray turtleneck number that showed off the results of her significant weight loss and her newly toned-up figure. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star paired her curvaceous ensemble with gold statement hoops, a sparkly gold clutch, and furry gray d’Orsay-style sandals that highlighted her fit legs.
Kardashian West has been embracing a more natural look recently, and the brunette beauty opted to highlight her features with a bronzed makeup and light contour for the day out. The 35-year-old also swept her hair up in the cute messy bun she’s been rocking the past few outings (she recently confirmed on Twitter that this is her hair sans extensions!)

Keep up the hard work, Kim!
Women might be running around in casual clothes like crazy, but today’s pieces are nothing like the velour track suits and bedazzled loungewear of the ‘00s. They’re way sexier, for one, more about personal style than showing off labels. Take the basic sweatshirt, for instance. Off-duty style icons like the Kardashian-Jenner and Hadid sisters are wearing them in exaggerated proportions—either shrunken or oversized—mixed with slightly dressier staples like heeled boots, leather skirts, and skinny jeans.
The sartorial reign of KenGi shows no signs of fading, and we’re not complaining. But sometimes you just want a little change—a fresh source for cool outfit ideas, if you will. Enter the eight ladies who we wholeheartedly believe are just as cool and stylish as Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. They each possess that effortless quality that Jenner and Hadid do so well, they provide us with regular outfit inspiration, they set trends, and they take risks. You probably already know and love all of these heavy hitters, but we’ve taken on the task of reminding you just how stellar these celebs consistently look. Click below to see some of their best recent looks (both off- and on-duty) and shop pieces all of these ladies would love (including KenGi).
Thought Lady Gaga was done churning out amazing looks this week? Think again.
The singer hit the streets of New York City today in a grey plaid suit, completely ignoring the fact that its well above 80 degrees outside. However, that doesn’t mean we love her super chic oversize jacket and matching wide-leg pants any less. Plus, Mother Monster added a seasonal touch to her outfit by wearing the coat open and pairing the set with a black bralette. To complete her work wear number, she added a pair of black-rimmed glasses and sky-high leather platforms. A simply updo, fresh face of makeup, and cherry red manicure finished off Gaga’s ensemble.
The superstar has been spotted out a multitude of stylish looks this week, from a stunning black Brandon Maxwell gown she wore at Tony Bennett’s 90th birthday party last night to a sexy denim crop top and coordinating short shorts she was snapped strutting her stuff in on Sunday.

Keeping up the trend of recasting popular movies with all female casts a la Ghostbusters, Warner Brothers is in the midst of casting Ocean Eight, a remake of the various Ocean videos that starred Brad Pitt and George Clooney. The two movies are linked through Clooney’s Danny Ocean character, whose sister as portrayed by Sandra Bullock will lead the film.
Putting aside the film being directed by Gary Ross (Hunger Games), who is not a woman, and the female version getting 3 less people than the men’s version (not unlike the 78 cents we get on their dollar), our ears perked up quite a lot to hear that Rihanna has officially signed on to a cast that will be lead by Bullock along with Cate Blanchett plus Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham, Mindy Kaling and rapper Awkwafina–yes there is one slot still open.
Phew, talk about some heavy hitter actresses! As tough as the cast is, you have to figure the fashions are going to be a big part of the appeal. Let’s face it, there’s no way they can’t be if Rih has agreed to sign on.

So you’re going on a trip. You’ve remembered to pack all the necessities, like your toothbrush, makeup, socks, pajamas, and more. What’s missing? Well if you’re Olivia Palermo, there’s one simple yet luxurious item that makes all the difference.
In a new interview with Allure, Palermo revealed her favorite travel essential. “It’s important to bring things that make your hotel room feel comfortable, and for me, that’s Jo Malone or Diptyque travel candles,” she told Allure. “The scents give me a lift and make me feel at home and at peace.” We’ll admit it: We’re usually too focused on planning weather-appropriate outfits and keeping clothes wrinkle-free to be concerned with making a hotel feel like home. But Palermo officially convinced us that we’re overlooking this important detail—consider candles on our permanent packing lists from now on.
