Bridport Community Orchard’s annual Apple Day has been cancelled this year.
The popular event is usually held in October in the orchard behind St Mary’s Church in South Street.
Jenn Baker, chairman of Bridport Community Orchard, said: “We did look into the possibility of holding a cut down version of the event but with so many rules and regs to make the site Covid secure, we came to the conclusion that it would be no fun – for either the visitors or for us as organisers.
“However, the apples still have to be picked and juiced so we are hoping to have a stall at Bridport market in October. We shall be selling pasteurised bottles of our famously delicious apple juice along with some jams, chutneys and wrapped cakes.”
A date has not been set yet but will be announced on the group’s Facebook page.
